 Hello Everyone,
Today's blog is about how to hydro dip wood flowers using fingernail polish. Please read all instructions before you get started.

1.) Put on your latex gloves. This way you want have any mess to clean up off of your hands.
Paint your flowers with a base coat. Use any color that you want to. Let them dry completely.

2.) Once your flowers are dried completely, get your throw away bowl ready. Pick your nail polish colors that you will be using. Choose at least 2 to 3 colors. I personally don't use the glitter or gel nail polishes because I found out some of them will not work.

3.) Please be in a well ventilated area. Maybe outside. This is where it will get messy and stinky. Put on your latex gloves and your safety glasses to be safe.
In your throw away bowl, add hot water, hot to the touch. This part we will also have to work fast because the nail polish will dry and get thick fast.
Pour your nail polish in your water. You notice that it floats on top. That is okay. That is what you want it to do. How much nail polish you need depends on how big your flowers are and how much of the flower you want covered. For the pieces that I am using, I don't need much nail polish.

4.) Hold your flower piece at a angle and slowly dip into the nail polish/water. Swish your flower around a little and pull the flower out. Stand it up straight so that the excess nail polish will run off. Let dry. I recommend letting it dry over night. Don't worry if the first flower didn't come out exactly the way you expected it to. The more you do, the better they start looking.

5.) Once your flower is completely dry, paint with polyurethane. Polyurethane will make your flowers shine and also will help with any imperfections. It kinda smooths it out. It will probably take overnight to dry.

6.) The finger nail polish remover is just in case you have any messes, like on your hands or some where else.

7.) When the polyurethane is dry, now you can decorate using your twine and jewels or however you want to decorate them. The more you do, the easier it will get.

Now you know how to hydro dip using finger nail polish. You can dip anything. Try it and see what beautiful pieces you can come up with.

I would love to hear back from you and see the beautiful pieces that you have created. Any comments, suggestions, questions, or ideas are welcomed.

Thank you for visiting my blog.

How To Etch Glass

Hello Everyone,

I am going to teach you how to etch beautiful glass pieces. Please read all the instructions before you get started.
Here is a list of all the supplies that you will need for this project:
 • tape
 • clean dry cloth
 • latex gloves
 • safety glasses
 • a design to etch
 • a piece of glass
 • rotary tool
 • diamond tips for rotary tool

Ok. You have all your supplies to get started, let’s etch some glass.

1.) Find a picture that you like and want to etch. To find my pictures, I look through coloring books and on Google for printable images. Until you are comfortable with etching glass, try to choose something that is simple. This is my picture that I choose.

2.) Find a piece of glass that you want to etch on. Make sure it is the appropriate size for the picture that you have chosen. This is the glass piece that I will be using.

3.) Tape your picture on the back of the piece of glass, facing up. Tape it good so that it want move on you.

4.) We will be cutting into the glass with the diamond tip so there will be powder pieces of glass. Please wear your latex gloves and safety glasses.

5.) If you already have or have purchased a rotary tool for this project, use the smallest diamond tip that you have at first. My rotary tool has different settings on it from 1 to max. I use it in 1.

6.) Hold your rotary tool in your hand to where it is comfortable for you. Don’t be scared. It is just like writing or coloring a picture. You don’t have to press down hard the rotary tool will do the work for you. Trace out your whole picture.

7.) Once you are done tracing all the lines on your picture, you can take the picture off of the back. You should have all your lines from your picture on your glass. Don’t worry if it doesn’t look good right now. We aren’t done yet. It will look great.

8.) Switch out your diamond tip to one that is slightly bigger. Changing your tip to a bigger size will give you a thicker line when you go back over them and will shade in better.

9.) Now look at your glass with your picture on it and decide what areas you think would look good shaded in. When you shade in tour piece it is just like coloring a picture. Stay in the lines and make sure everything is colored. While you are shading in, if your glass gets dusty, just wipe it with your clean cloth and keep shading.

10.) When all of the areas are colored in and you have it the way you want it, you are done. Great job!!

 * You can etch on glass, mirrors, glass vases, or glasses. Now you can hang your piece, set it on a shelf, sell it, or give it away.

Great job! Please send me pictures of the etch glass that you have created. I would love to see your creations. I hope you enjoy etching glass.

Next we will be learning how to dip wooden flower pieces into nail polish. I look forward to hearing from you and any comments, suggestion, questions, or ideas that you might have. Below are a few of some of my etch glass pieces.

What C& K Craftmix and I Am About

Hello,
I am a crafter. I love crafts. Any and all. From crafting items for weddings, home decor items, to a few jewelry items. Crafting has been in my life since I was a little girl. Between my mother and my grandmother, I have been taught a lot. I can also say that crafting has taught me how to have patience, how to use my imagination, and how to have some form of peace in a world that is hectic. Helping others achieve the same inner peace through crafting is my goal.
It has taken me a while to get started with blogging. I am getting older and it takes a little time to learn new things but I thought about it and realized that as I am getting older I can still share crafting with others through blogging.
On my blog, I am targeting people who love hands on experiences making beautiful pieces that they can keep for themselves, sale, or give away. I am also targeting anyone that is about to embark on planning a wedding. I will help you in relieving some of if not all of the stress of planning a wedding and save you money by showing you how you can make most of your wedding items yourself.
I hope you not only enjoy my blog but are able to gain peace of mind, and a love for crafting.
Any comments, suggestions, questions or ideas are greatly appreciated.
On the next post, I will show you how to etch glass. I will always have for you a list of items you will need, pictures, and I hope to do good videos for you.

Thank you for reading and I hope to hear from you in the comment section,
